The all-female team produced credible results with a series of personal bests across various track and field events. Special mention should go to Lily Finlay for making the Junior Girls 100 metres semi-finals and Alice Bell for taking 10th place in the 3000 Metres Road Race. The meeting culminated on Sunday afternoon with the DHS 4 x 100 Metres Relay Team competing in the Senior Girls final. Participation in this marquee event was significant for the girls as their squad was comprised of three juniors and a senior (by one day)! The squad qualified for the final on Friday with a time of 54.18. Not satisfied with just making the final these young DHS girls pushed through for a national ranking of 7th with a time of 53.10! Fantastic conclusion to an amazing three days for this young team of DHS Athletes! Special thanks to coach Alan Hamilton for getting this team prepared in the months leading up to December. Also, big thanks to the parent help Ami, Matt and Nicola for keeping the girls happy, safe and well-fed.
