MTB Schools National Roundup
MTB Schools National Roundup
Dunstan had 13 students riding in the MTB School Nationals at Christchurch Adventure Park (C.A.P.) from the 7th - 10th October.

After a few days of practice the first event was the enduro. After overnight rain it was reduced to 4 stages instead of 5. Performances of note were from Jack Sole who was 10th and Ryker Thow in 11th. Next day was the XC races. I really enjoyed watching Eddie Adams fighting for victory. The leading group went from 4 to 3 and then finally 2. Eddie tried to pass the leader and ending up crashing and then caught up again on the downhill section and pump track to lose out by only a second in a sprint finish. Other good results were from Ryker in 7th and Eli Moir in 15th. Kristian Bjerrisgaard raced to 22nd in the XC.

The last 2 days were set aside for Downhill. In the junior DH, Ryker was 12th, then in the seniors DH, Jack was 6th, Eddie 10th, Hailey Petrie 7th, Cam Moir 17th, Marko Hubber 25th on his new DH rig and Ted Cuthbertson 51st. William Miller had bike troubles and sat out the DH.

Max Julius and Liam Jones attended their first nationals.

It was very hard to compete with the Christchurch schools who ride at CAP most days.

In the overall, we had Eddie Adams in 3rd in the U20 boys, Jack Sole who was 3rd in the U17 boys and Ryker Thow who was 6th in the U15 boys.

No injuries from anyone but lots of bike problems and breakages were had.
