Sky Sanders, Year 12, along with 13 other talented youth from across New Zealand have been selected to represent New Zealand in the 2024 NZ High School Rodeo Team.

The NZ team this past week have competed in the Trans Tasman Challenge against the Australian High School team in barrel racing, bull riding, novice steer riding and break away.

Sky will head across to Australia later in the year to compete on their horses and try take the Trans Tasman Challenge title off Australia on their home soil.

Also congratulations to Amelia Knowles, Year 11, for being named as one of the four reserves for the team.

Two weekends ago at the Mad Bull Rodeo Series, Sky was also crowned the Rookie barrel racing champion, this her first season as an adult barrel racer.  

Amelia Knowles took out 4th place in the Junior Barrels competition, well done Amelia.
