Pétanque
Going to the Alexandra Bowling Club recently to play pétanque was great fun!
In class days prior we had learned lots about the French sport, from rules to techniques used to throw the 700 gram balls or boules as they say in France. To throw the ball you must be in a circle 50 cm in diameter and scoring requires your boule to be closest to the cochonnet (Jack). The closeness of the remaining winning team's boules will determine how many points you get in that side (round).
Here is an example of this: the three silver balls are closer relative to the nearest bronze ball so the silver team gets three points. The pétanque experience was great and THANK YOU to Mr and Mrs Beer for instructing us and showing us how to play the competitive game.
