Year 13 Biology
In the last couple of weeks Year 13 Biology have been learning about Animal Responses.
To make this content more interactive the students put out some meat and created maggot farms. Pania Geary and Chloe Robertson then took on the challenging role of removing the maggots from the meat and collecting them for the experiment. The students created choice chambers, providing the maggots with varying environments; dark and dry, dark and damp, light and dry and light and damp. After five minutes data was collected and it was noted that the maggots showed a negative phototaxis - they moved away from the light almost every time.
