Nau mai - welcome

Alexandra is a town of approximately 5,000 people, situated in the heart of a beautiful, unique region called Central Otago. Queenstown International Airport is a 70-minute drive away, and you can get here directly from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, or domestically from Christchurch or Auckland.

Cold in winter and hot in summer, the climate, geography and excitement-loving locals mean there is a huge variety of things to see and do - come here with an open mind and a can-do attitude and you can be sure of having an unforgettable experience.

Our school of approximately 560 students is located on a wide-open campus at the edge of town, and we offer a wide variety of subjects and activities for you to get involved with. Due to our smaller number of international students at the school (usually 5-10 at any given time), you'll have a special opportunity to get to know our local New Zealand students and get to experience life like a local.

You'll have access to fantastic resources like our ESOL teachers and International staff, and if you're determined to get ahead with your english language skills, we can help with getting you enrolled with IELTS courses and exams. You have the opportunity to get involved with our well-known Outdoor Education programme, where students get involved with mountain biking, Nordic skiing, rock-climbing, overnight hiking, first aid skills etc. You might choose to join our choir, get involved with one of our many sports teams or our annual school play / musical.

Outside of school, there are numerous activities for you to get involved with, from trail riding to canoeing and from snowboarding to rowing. There are so may new things for you to try - it's all up to you!
