Their current head machinist is retiring at the end of this year and they need to replace him. Their head machinist is very skilled and has a wealth of knowledge that they would like to see passed on to a young person willing to learn and wanting to make a career in the timber industry.

A timber machinist's role in the process is turning rough-sawn timber into dressed products such as house framing, weatherboards, skirtings T&G etc. It would require a person with an eye for detail and a bent for working with machinery.
